With an adjacent restaurant, safe swimming pools and the recreational area in the estuary to the north of the swimming area, Margate offers holiday-makers a wonderful range of experiences.

The warm waters make swimming possible all year round. The beach can be very busy during the summer and Easter holidays.

Top-class lifeguards are on duty throughout the year and environmental education programmes are run during the holiday seasons.

One can hire beach umbrellas, and shaded areas are available on the beach.

Early in the morning, you can see the peace at the beach on Margate. Once the sun gains strength, so do the numbers of visitors on the sands.
