South Coast Air Show 2008Mark Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd March in your diary because, once again, the fast-moving and action-packed Margate Air Show is upon us. The air show calendar will open in Margate offering the South African public a wide array of heart-stopping newly choreographed dare-devil aerobatic acts. The South African Air force will be at the show with their full entourage of unique and interesting displays. The Silver Falcons will open this year’s show with their incredible aerial stunt work that will keep the crowds calling for more!

There will also be an adrenaline-pumping race between the Mazda Zoom Zoom plane and car as well as a veritable mixed bag of flying machines participating in the air show, including microlights, Harvard’s, Chipmunks, helicopters and heart-stopping aerobatics performed by various purpose-built aircraft. Pilot Skully Levine , whose reputation as a display pilot precedes him, will return with his incredible trio of Pitt Specials and will offer breathtaking aerial ballet at its finest. A new addition to the show will be the Capital Sounds Aeropark which will allow visitors to get up close with a wide variety of interesting homebuilt vintage aircraft.

Beside the aerobatics, there will be other forms of entertainment to ensure that the whole family is kept busy. There will be a kids' entertainment area, the SAB Beer Garden, food stalls a plenty as well as a wide range of arts and craft market stalls. There will be plenty of secure parking available as well as a shuttle service running from the Hibiscus Mall. The gates open at 12 noon on Friday and 9am on Saturday with the programme ending at 16h30 on both days.

Entry fee is a mere R40 for adults with children under the age of 12 paying R20.

Michael de PinnaMargate Air Show opens with Michael de Pinna Cabaret Show: Friday 21 March at 19h00

With memories of his Leopard skin undies still fresh in everyone’s mind, Wozani Africa are thrilled to present “AN EVENING WITH MICHAEL DE PINNA”, one of South Africa’s leading stage and television performers. This will be Michael de Pinnas first ever appearance on the Hibiscus Coast. His cabaret production will show how a stand up comic can succeed without cursing. Michael gets by on talent alone – and a good script, an extraordinary voice and expert showmanship. His cabaret features loads of gags and songs from all genres of the music world – from Frank Sinatra, Bon Jovi and Elvis to Stephen Sondheim, Neil Diamond and a touch of Dr Frankenfurter.
